The Rivella story is one of total, quiet focus. While their neighbors might bottle five or six different wines, Teobaldo & Maria Rivella make just two—their iconic Barbaresco and their serious, structured Dolcetto. Teobaldo’s first vintage was in 1967, and in nearly 60 years, his philosophy hasn’t budged an inch: 30-day macerations and long aging in large, neutral Slavonian botti. Montestefano is famous for having the highest limestone content in Barbaresco, which gives the wine a level of power and structure that leads many to call it the 'most Barolo-like' wine in the village. Arguably the most important Barbaresco vineyard, this glorious example of Montestefano is not to be missed in the outstanding ’21 vintage. This is big botti elevage Nebbiolo, a clear and inspiring picture of this lauded site. This isn't just Barbaresco; it's a time capsule. There are only about 750 cases of the Montestefano produced for the entire world.
