This Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is defined by the geological profile of the Fontane and Bastonaca contrade, where the vines are rooted in a thin layer of iron-rich red sand over a dense limestone bedrock. Comprising 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, the fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks followed by an 18-month elevage in large Slavonian oak botti and additional refinement in concrete. The 2022 growing season was shaped by late-summer rains that moderated sugar accumulation, preserving a high level of acid retention and resulting in a leaner, more vertical structural frame than previous years. Fine-grained tannins provide a firm architectural backbone, while the palate exhibits a dense, stony minerality and significant mid-palate tension.
