2022 Benedicte & Stephane Tissot, Arbois Chardonnay, Clos de la Tour de Curon

Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot operate their renowned estate in the village of Montigny-les-Arsures within the Arbois appellation, building upon a family history that dates back to 1962. This specific wine is sourced from the Clos de la Tour de Curon, a tiny, south-facing site featuring dense vine plantings on steep, Bajocian limestone soils. It’s a walled vineyard that Stéphane planted in 2002 with high density and massale selection, and it makes arguably one of the best Chardonnays in the entire Jura region. In the glass, it presents a golden hue with focused notes of white peach, flinty minerality, and a persistent, leesy texture that provides structure and weight. This is a profound, singular bottle that is built for the cellar, though it offers an engaging experience for those who choose to open it now.
