If you want to understand what Jura Pinot Noir can be, start here. Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot have farmed En Barberon biodynamically for years, working the clay-limestone soils with the kind of patience and intention that shows up directly in the glass. This is a parcel wine in the truest sense — every decision in the vineyard and cellar exists to let one specific piece of ground speak.
The 2022 is striking. Whole-cluster fermentation in wooden vats gives the wine a lifted, almost perfumed quality, while the structure underneath is serious — fine, persistent tannins and a line of bright acidity that keeps the wine focused and long. The warm vintage added density and presence, but this never tips into excess. It stays precise.
Think of it as the Jura's answer to a great village Burgundy — but with a mineral depth and quiet originality that Burgundy, at this price, rarely delivers anymore. A wine worth buying more than one bottle of.
