Domaine Bruno Clair utilizes a rigorous, sustainable viticultural approach—incorporating cover crops and organic manure to maintain soil health—to farm these Chardonnay parcels located on the poor, stony, white marl soils of Marsannay. The fruit is pressed directly and fermented with ambient yeasts in stainless steel vats before undergoing an 18-month aging regimen in a combination of barrels and foudres. This site-specific focus on limestone bedrock consistently anchors the wine in a tensile, mineral-driven framework. The 2022 vintage provided sufficient concentration to fill out the mid-palate, while the inherent freshness of this high-altitude terroir preserved the necessary nerve and structural definition.
