Domaine de Vaccelli, under Gérard Courrèges, organically farms old-vine Sciaccarellu on the granitic slopes of Ajaccio, anchoring its wines in profound agricultural intent. This Granit Rouge cuvée is a plot selection from over 50-year-old Sciaccarellu vines rooted deeply in the region's decomposed granite, imparting a distinct mineral framework. The 2022 vintage in Corsica presented notably hot and dry conditions, leading to an early growing season and smaller Sciaccarellu berries that yielded concentrated physiological ripeness. This warm vintage profile is reflected in the wine's supple texture and full-bodied presence, yet retains characteristic freshness due to its granite provenance and precise vinification in concrete eggs and demi-muids, offering structural integrity.
