2022 I Custodi, Etna Rosso, Pistus

I Custodi delle Vigne dell'Etna is located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, where the estate operates as part of the I Vigneri guild, a historic association of local winegrowers that dates back to 1435. This wine is made from a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio, grown in sandy, volcanic soils at an altitude of 650 meters. In the glass, it shows bright notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, and volcanic minerality, supported by a light-bodied structure with feathery tannins. The 2022 growing season was characterized by minimal rainfall, yet timely August showers and clement weather during the harvest allowed the grapes to achieve balanced ripeness and acid structure. This bottling is ready to enjoy tonight, offering a direct and vibrant expression of Etnean terroir.
