6 available
Adega A Barouta brings together three leading figures in the contemporary Iberian wine landscape: Fernando García and Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi, whose work in the Sierra de Gredos helped redefine Garnacha and mountain viticulture in Spain, and Roberto Núñez, a Chilean agronomist and winemaker with deep roots in Galicia. Their project centers on co-plantings of indigenous grapes grown on steep granitic slopes, with an emphasis on careful vineyard work and low-intervention cellar practices. Ventoleiro Tinto is a blend of traditional Ribeiro varieties Brancellao, Caiño Longo, and Sousón. They are old-vine parcels grown on decomposed granite (sabrego), the defining soil of the region. Elevation, Atlantic influence, and lean, well-drained soils shape the wine’s structure and underlying lift, hallmarks of Ribeiro’s historic style. Fermented with native yeasts and raised in neutral vessels, the cuvée reflects a clear expression of site and the thoughtful, restrained winemaking that defines this small grower’s work.
