Comando G was established in 2008 by Fernando García and Dani Landi, who have spent years revitalizing abandoned, high-altitude vineyards across the Sierra de Gredos mountains. This wine is made from Garnacha vines over 75 years old, sourced from a 1.17-hectare plot in the village of Navatalgordo characterized by slate and quartz-rich granite soils at 1,200 meters of elevation. In the glass, it shows notes of rosehip, wild red berries, and a distinct stony minerality, all framed by a silky texture and fine-grained tannins. The 2023 vintage provided a moderate, continental growing season that allowed the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while maintaining the freshness and tension essential to this site's character. With its precise structure and integrated acidity, this bottle is balanced for near-term enjoyment but possesses the depth to evolve with several years of additional cellaring.
