2023 Dalla Valle, Collina, Napa Valley

Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 on the eastern hillsides of Oakville, where Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle first established their family estate. The wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown in the estate's iron-rich, volcanic hillside soils. In the glass, it offers a balanced interplay of blueberry, blackberry, and wild cherry notes, supported by a structure of graphite and cedar that reflects the rugged landscape. The 2023 vintage provided a moderate growing season with ample winter rain, resulting in a wine defined by poise, elegance, and refined, supple tannins. Built with a focus on harmony and persistence, this release is approachable now but possesses the structural integrity to evolve gracefully over the next decade.
