2023 Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Cote d'Or Blanc

Tucked away in the off-the-beaten-path hamlet of Remigny, sitting just between Santenay and Chassagne, the Borgeot family has been making wine for four generations. Stylistically, these wines seamlessly glide across the palate with stunning purity. The combination of temperature-controlled stainless steel and the mere whisper of new oak during élevage is cohesively and intentionally balanced. The fruit for this cuvée is sourced from their home village of Remigny and the neighboring village of Puligny-Montrachet. The Puligny fruit here brings an elegance and tension that elevates the wine far beyond its tier, making it the perfect daily drinker. It is super complex for such a modest price, possessing wonderful mid-palate density—impressive for young vines (12 years old)—and a remarkably long finish. In fact, the length doesn't fully hit you until you go back for your second sip, which is exactly the moment you realize this is offering quite a bit more than your standard Bourgogne Blanc.
