Louis Vallet's Domaine Charodon crafts this Puligny-Montrachet from organically farmed parcels within the Côte de Beaune, where clay-limestone soils dictate the foundational structure of Chardonnay. Emphasizing minimal intervention, whites are whole-bunch pressed and aged on fine lees to articulate terroir expression. The 2023 vintage, characterized by a warm but less luminous growing season and periods of crucial rainfall, yielded a Chardonnay with both generous ripeness and a surprisingly firm, saline-inflected tartaric acidity.
