Domaine de Villaine is based in the village of Bouzeron, where Aubert de Villaine and his wife Pamela first established the estate in the 1970s and have since championed organic farming across their Côte Chalonnaise holdings. This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grown in the limestone-rich, southeast-facing soils of the Les Margotés vineyard at the southern edge of the Rully appellation. In the glass, it reveals clean aromas of white flowers, fresh almond, and crisp orchard fruit, supported by a distinctively chalky texture and firm structure. The 2023 vintage provided a favorable growing season that allowed for optimal fruit maturity while retaining the bright acidity and tension characteristic of the site.
