2024 Domaine Denis Mortet, Gevrey-Chambertin, Mes Cinq Terroirs

Domaine Denis Mortet farms organic parcels in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, continuing a multi-generational family legacy in the Côte de Nuits. Made from vines over 60 years old rooted in five specific northern village sites, this wine relies on fruit grown across limestone-rich soils. The resulting wine opens with aromas of raspberry, crushed strawberry, and white-peppery scents, delivering a well-balanced palate with a sharp entry and plenty of spice on the finish. The 2023 growing season yielded concentrated berries that translate into a medium-to-full-bodied structure with a long, perfumed finish. This bottling offers excellent structure and depth, making it a solid candidate to lay down in the cellar for medium-term aging.
