2023 Domaine des Ardoisieres, IGP Vin des Allobroges, Schiste

Domaine des Ardoisieres operates from the vertiginous, south-facing terraces of the Cévins hillside, where biodynamic farming and rigorous low-yield stewardship focus on the expression of metamorphic mica-schist soils. This cuvée, a blend of Jacquère, Roussanne, Malvoisie, and Mondeuse Blanche, is vinified with native yeasts and whole-cluster pressed before twelve months of aging in seasoned barriques. The 2023 growing season, salvaged by timely September rains after a summer of extreme heat and drought, allowed for the development of physiological ripeness while maintaining the necessary structural tension typical of this high-altitude site. The resulting wine is characterized by a dense, layered mid-palate and high-toned acidity, defined by a fine-grained, saline architectural frame. This combination of terroir and vintage conditions yields a wine defined by its nerve, focus, and clear mineral-driven profile.
