2023 Jean-Marc Vincent, Santenay, Les Vignes Denses

This is benchmark Santenay.  A humble village taken to a whole new level with JM Vincent. He is friends with Olivier Lamy and believes in high density plantings. These are planted at 17k vines per hectare (10k is the norm). This makes his vines compete with one another and encourages roots to dig deep bringing minerality and complexity. His wines are intense, capable of ageing for extended periods of time and will totally make you think this village can be as special as its more famous neighbors in the right hands.
