2023 Jean-Philippe Fichet, Bourgogne Blanc, Cote d'Or

One of the masters of Meursault, Jean-Philippe Fichet has long promoted the emphasis of terroir without the sacrifice of fruit. This translates to a style that embraces a pleasurable ripeness, while also paying heed to the distinct minerality of each parcel and/or cuvée. Fichet gained fame not through his ownership of terrific sites, but rather his tireless efforts at forging long-lasting relationships with top growers. By doing this, he has created for himself an impressive line-up, featuring many of Meursault's top sites. His Bourgogne 'Cote d'Or' is a perennial smart buy, as the fruit comes from six parcels in the actual village of Meursault.
