The Eola-Amity Hills AVA is defined by its shallow, well-drained volcanic basalt and marine sedimentary soils, alongside the cooling influence of the Van Duzer Corridor, which collectively contribute to the wine's inherent structural foundation. The 2023 growing season in this region experienced a long, wet spring followed by a balanced summer with cool nights, culminating in a timely harvest that allowed for excellent physiological ripeness and sustained acid retention. This yielded a 2023 Avni Pinot Noir that exhibits a medium-bodied framework with fresh, lively acidity and a fine, velvety tannin profile, showcasing a nuanced balance between ripeness and structural integrity.
