The Montenidoli estate sits on a mountainside overlooking the medieval town of San Gimignano, where proprietor Elisabetta Fagiuoli has been farming and producing wine since 1965. These vineyards are planted on calcareous soils rich in marine sediments, providing a unique mineral foundation for the grapes, which are grown using strictly organic practices. This wine is made from Vernaccia and undergoes a period of skin contact, resulting in a golden-hued, dry white with distinct notes of almond, herbal aromatics, and a flinty, savory finish. While the 2023 growing season featured a summer of intense heat, the vines found sufficient moisture in the deep earth, ensuring the wine maintains a persistent structure and lively acidity. This is a balanced, capable white that shows well now but possesses the depth to evolve further with a few years in the cellar.
