2023 Morey-Blanc, Aloxe-Corton, 1er Cru Clos du Chapitre

Pierre Morey spent decades establishing one of Burgundy's most respected biodynamic domaines. His daughter Anne now carries that philosophy forward at Morey-Blanc — same rigor in the vineyard, same commitment to letting the site speak without interference.

The Clos du Chapitre is a walled Premier Cru parcel in Aloxe-Corton, east-facing and rooted in limestone-rich clay that drains well but holds just enough moisture to keep the vines honest through dry summers. It's the kind of enclosed, historic site that Burgundy built its reputation on — and it shows in the wine.

Fully destemmed, fermented with native yeast, aged in older barrels that add texture without oak flavor. Anne's winemaking is precise and unobtrusive — the goal is always the vineyard, never the cellar.

2023 was a generous vintage in the Côte de Beaune: a cooler, wetter summer gave way to a warm harvest that brought the fruit to full ripeness without sacrificing freshness. The result is a Pinot Noir with lovely balance — smooth, integrated tannins, a focused mid-palate, and a brightness that keeps it lively and long. It has the refinement and composure you expect from a serious Burgundy, without any of the heaviness that warmer vintages can sometimes bring.
