Founded in 2018 by Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze, the Wasenhaus project is based in the town of Staufen, Baden, where the duo applies deep experience gained at prestigious biodynamic estates in Burgundy to their local German terroir. This wine is made from Pinot Blanc grown in specific loess-based plots south of Staufen, selected by the producers for their ability to express the site's unique character through minimal-intervention farming. In the glass, it shows bright notes of orchard fruit and a distinct, stony minerality, with a textural elegance supported by time spent aging on its lees. The 2023 vintage provided a reliable growing season that allowed for balanced ripeness and preserved the fresh, energetic acidity characteristic of the region.
