2024 Ameztoi, Getariako Txakolina, Rubentis

Ameztoi's Rubentis is a pioneering rosé that revived the historic "claret" style of the Getariako Txakolina region in Basque Country. It is crafted from a co-fermented field blend of indigenous Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza grapes, sourced from the family's ecologically farmed, trellis-trained vineyards on the steep, coastal cliffs overlooking the Bay of Biscay. The Ameztoi family, now in its fifth generation, preserved their old Hondarrabi Beltza vines when others had abandoned them, providing this wine with exceptional vibrancy. This distinctive rosé is vinified in stainless steel with native yeasts, and a portion of the natural carbonation is retained, resulting in the appellation's signature effervescence.
