A protégé of Beaujolais legends Jean Foillard and Georges Descombes, Anthony Thévenet uses low-intervention farming and meticulous soil work to capture the incredible concentration of his estate’s centenarian Gamay. The Cuvée Julia is sourced from a single hectare of vines planted in 1935 on the iconic Côte du Py, where blue volcanic schist and manganese soils provide a foundation of intense mineral depth. Following traditional whole-cluster fermentation and aging in neutral oak, the wine beautifully integrates its substantial structure with the site's natural finesse. In the 2024 vintage, a cooler growing season resulted in a profile defined by "high-toned nerve" and an athletic, tense mid-palate. This is a structurally precise Morgon—featuring fine-grained tannins and a transparency that perfectly reflects the architectural weight and history of its world-class terroir.
