Cantina del Pino continues the late Renato Vacca’s legacy of non-interventionist viticulture, sourcing this Nebbiolo from younger vines within the estate’s holdings on the calcareous Ovello hillside in Barbaresco. The vineyard’s specific composition of limestone marl and sandy veins at altitudes reaching 290 meters provides a structural foundation of high-toned mineral tension and verticality. Technical decisions, including a brief seven-day maceration and maturation exclusively in stainless steel, are calibrated to preserve the variety’s transparency and primary architectural detail without the influence of oak. In the 2024 vintage, a cool spring followed by a late-summer thermal surge resulted in a wine with preserved acidity and a fine-grained tannic profile that ensures mid-palate energy.
