2024 Chateau de Charodon, Gevrey-Chambertin

Château de Charodon is based in Burgundy and was founded in 2010 by Louis Vallet, whose family maintains deep historical roots in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. Sourced from village-level sites featuring a mix of fractured limestone and red clay soils, this wine is made from manually harvested fruit. The vinification follows a traditional approach, utilizing natural yeasts and aging in oak barrels for 16 to 18 months. The 2024 growing season brought significant rain and lower yields, producing a focused wine defined by structural discipline and classic regional identity. This bottling is well-balanced and ready to enjoy in its youth, while possessing the underlying material to evolve over the coming years.
