2024 Chateau de Charodon, Bourgogne Blanc, Cote d'Or

Château de Charodon is a project led by Louis Vallet, a third-generation member of a historic Gevrey-Chambertin winemaking family, who established his own production in the buildings of his parental home near Beaune in 2010. This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grown in clay-limestone soils, with fruit sourced through long-term contracts that prioritize sustainable and organic farming practices. On the palate, it offers a focused profile of orchard fruit, citrus, and a clean mineral backbone, providing a textured yet precise mouthfeel. The 2024 vintage was defined by challenging weather that resulted in lower yields, yet the white grapes maintained excellent ripeness and refreshing acidity.
