2023 Comte Abbatucci, Monte Bianco, VdF

Jean-Charles Abbatucci is the guy to know in Corsica for biodynamic farming and native grapes. This is 100% Sciaccarellu from a specific north-facing slope of white granite. That soil gives the wine a distinct smoky, peppery character that mixes with wild red berries and local herbs (maquis). It’s aged in large wooden tanks rather than small barrels, so you don't get heavy oak flavors—just a silky texture. People often compare this to a high-end Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo because of its pale color and deceptive structure.
