Clos de la Roilette is a long-standing estate in the Fleurie appellation, currently managed by Alain Coudert, who took over from his father, Fernand, in the 1980s. The wine is made from Gamay vines averaging 30 to 45 years old, which are rooted in heavy clay soils rich in manganese rather than the typical granite found elsewhere in the village. In the glass, this red wine offers bright aromas of cherry and raspberry alongside firm acidity and distinct earthy, mineral tones that provide a balanced, structured mouthfeel. The 2024 vintage, defined by a cool and rainy growing season, resulted in a fresh, fruit-forward profile with fine, delicate tannins. This bottle is ready to enjoy tonight but maintains the balance to develop further if left in the cellar.
