2024 Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet, Fixin, 1er Cru Arvelets

Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet is a family estate now spanning seven generations, with Amélie Berthaut currently leading the house in the village of Fixin. This 1er Cru Arvelets is made from Pinot Noir grown in the northernmost premier cru of the Côte d’Or, where vines planted between 1956 and 1980 root into steep, limestone-rich soils. In the glass, the wine offers precise notes of dark red plum, chalky minerality, and subtle spice with a structured, fine-grained texture. The 2024 vintage provided the conditions for a balanced profile, resulting in a wine that emphasizes fresh fruit and classic tension rather than heavy extraction.
