2022 Domaine Charvin, Cotes du Rhone, Damon

Domaine Charvin has been a family-run estate since 1851, with Laurent Charvin representing the sixth generation managing these vineyards in the northern sector of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Damon cuvée is made from 80-year-old vines in the Maucoil district, grown in clay soils peppered with large galets roulés stones, and consists primarily of Grenache with 20% Syrah and a small amount of Carignan. In the glass, it reveals notes of black raspberry, smoked meat, and pepper, supported by a structured, full-bodied texture and refined tannins. The 2022 vintage provided a warm, solar season that added significant concentration and density to this specific parcel.
