2024 Domaine Comte Abbatucci, Faustine Rouge, Vin de Corse

Jean-Charles Abbatucci is the benchmark for biodynamic farming in Corsica. The Faustine is his staple red, a blend of 70% Sciaccarellu and 30% Niellucciu grown on granite soils in the Taravo Valley. He ferments it naturally in concrete and wood vats without crushing the grapes, which preserves the aromatics. 2024 was a tricky vintage with some late rain, so this release is leaner and snappier than usual. Instead of ripe, plush fruit, it’s driven by nervy acidity, a lighter body, and floral aromatics.
