2024 Domaine Dupeuble Pere et Fils, Beaujolais

Deep in the southern Beaujolais village of Le Breuil, the Dupeuble family tends to an impressive collection of 50 to 100-year-old Gamay vines. Their approach is traditional and hands-off: no synthetic chemicals, manual harvesting, and natural vinification. The 2024 vintage was a 'vintner's year,' where a wet spring required tireless work in the vines, eventually saved by a beautiful, dry August. The result is a return to a classic, vibrant style of Beaujolais. The wine offers a structural core driven by the region's granite and limestone soils, balanced by the vintage's electric acidity. With moderate alcohol and fine, integrated tannins, this is a texturally satisfying wine that showcases the purity of old-vine fruit.
