2024 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville, Bourgogne Rouge

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville is a historic Volnay estate, currently led by Guillaume d’Angerville, which famously pioneered estate bottling in Burgundy during the 1920s to ensure quality and authenticity. This regional wine is made from 30-year-old vines planted on the deep, clay-heavy soils located in the eastern, lower-slope parcels of the village. In the glass, it shows bright red fruit notes of raspberry and wild cherry, supported by a fresh, mineral-driven structure and silky tannins. The 2024 vintage was shaped by a difficult, damp growing season that required meticulous selection, ultimately resulting in a wine of notable precision and grace.
