Dominio del Águila is based in the village of La Aguilera within Ribera del Duero, where Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero founded their estate in 2010 to protect and revive ancient, high-altitude vineyards. This wine is made from a traditional field blend of Tempranillo, Albillo, Garnacha, and Bobal sourced from certified organic vines that are 60 to over 150 years old and rooted in sandy clay limestone soils. In the glass, it presents as a savory clarete with aromatic notes of red fruit, white flowers, and spice, balanced by a distinct chalky minerality and vibrant acidity. The 2024 vintage maintained the estate’s signature freshness, yielding a wine that carries both elegance and tension through a long finish. This is a versatile, structured bottle that is ready to enjoy tonight but possesses the equilibrium to develop further complexity over the next few years.
