The fruit originates exclusively from the steep, blue slate and quartzite-rich slopes of Monzingen, a terroir that dictates high-tension acidity and a persistent saline mineral core. In the 2024 vintage, severe spring frosts and a cool ripening period significantly reduced yields, ultimately favoring a lean, crystalline structure and remarkably low physiological alcohols. The resulting palate is defined by its fine-grained phenolic grip and a vibrating, architectural mid-palate that prioritizes mineral density over primary fruit weight. Spontaneous fermentation in large neutral oak vessels further clarifies the wine’s structural transparency and its stony, enduring finish.
