Envinate's Albahra is a compelling bottling from the high-altitude vineyards of Almansa, a small DO at the southeastern tip of Castilla-La Mancha. This wine is a blend of Garnacha Tintorera, also known as Alicante Bouschet, and the rare, high-acid Moravia Agria. The Envinate collective, a group of four winemaking friends, crafts this wine with a philosophy of minimal intervention, allowing the unique terroir to take center stage. The grapes are sourced from organically farmed parcels on limestone-clay soils at 800 meters elevation, a key factor in the wine's freshness. By fermenting with indigenous yeasts in concrete and using a portion of whole clusters, they produce a wine that is a pure, vibrant, and authentic reflection of its place.
