2024 Eva Fricke, Rheingau, Riesling

Since establishing her renowned estate in 2006, Eva Fricke has set the benchmark for precise, terroir-driven winemaking in the Rheingau. Farmed with strict organic and biodynamic practices, this wine is sourced from 40- to 70-year-old vines spread across the diverse soils of Lorch, Eltville, Hattenheim, and Kiedrich. Pour a glass to reveal vibrant, lively aromas of yuzu, crisp apple, and savory garden herbs. The complex 2024 vintage—marked by a low-yield harvest—produced wonderfully concentrated fruit balanced by a racy, high acidity. The result is a wine with a firm, saline texture and a persistent, steely wet-stone minerality. Great with sushi, spicy food, bbq- Riesling can handle these food flavors like no other. Fermented in stainless steel, with a slight maceration on the skins, followed by 4 to 9 months on fine lees. A dry Riesling that provides an excellent introduction to Fricke’s expressive yet precise style, with great salinity, and a pleasure to drink.
