2024 Forjas del Salnes, Rias Baixas, Albarino Leirana

Forjas del Salnes is located in the village of Meaño in the Val do Salnés sub-region of Rías Baixas, where fifth-generation winemaker Rodrigo Méndez continues a family legacy of viticulture that dates back centuries. The grapes come from vines planted between 1952 and 1982, rooted in the region's signature sandy granite soils. The resulting wine is taut and mineral-laced, featuring clear notes of lime zest, green apple, and a distinct, saline character reflective of its Atlantic proximity. The 2024 vintage benefited from a long, cool growing season, which preserved high acidity and aromatic complexity throughout the harvest.
