The Boulay family has farmed their nine-hectare estate in the village of Chavignol since 1380, maintaining a legacy of careful stewardship in the heart of Sancerre. This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc grown on the steep, south-facing slopes of the Mont Damnés vineyard, where the vines, averaging 45 years of age, thrive in Kimmeridgian limestone soils. In the glass, it shows bright notes of citrus and crisp orchard fruit, defined by a saline mineral backbone and a textured, energetic structure. The 2024 vintage was a challenging growing season that resulted in lower yields, producing a highly concentrated wine with notable poise and elegance. This is a balanced, expressive selection that rewards those looking for immediate enjoyment as well as those who wish to cellar it for further development.
