Domaine Gérard Seguin is a family estate that traces its history back to the mid-1800s, when founder Alexis Seguin established the family’s reputation as pioneers in vine grafting. This comes from a 0.9-hectare parcel situated directly behind the family's winery at the northern edge of Gevrey, marking the gateway to the Combe de Lavaux at the foot of the famed Clos Saint-Jacques. The name Craipillot translates to "stony ground," which is perfectly fitting: it is limestone-rich and well-drained, with marly debris and pebbles from the Combe adding real textural complexity. This is where the house steps into another register entirely — saline, mineral, and weightless in the way only great red Burgundy can be.
