2024 Occhipinti, Terre Siciliane IGT, SP68 Rosso

SP68 is named after the country road that runs past Occhipinti’s home vineyard in Vittoria, and it’s meant to be the most direct read of her farming. The fruit comes from organic vines on chalky, sandy soils, planted to Frappato and Nero d’Avola.

Fermented with native yeasts in concrete, about 2 weeks of maceration, then aged ~6 months in concrete, bottled unfiltered with low sulfur. No oak, no shaping—just fruit and site.

This is where Occhipinti starts—bright red fruit, herbs, a bit of earth—with a loose, energetic feel that makes it very easy to drink.
