2024 Weingut Tement, Sudsteiermark, Kalk & Kreide Sauvignon Blanc

Weingut Tement has been a benchmark producer in Austria's Südsteiermark appellation since 1959 and makes some of the most expensive and sought-after wines in this region. Today, the estate is guided by the third generation of the Tement family and farmed under strict biodynamic practices. Kalk & Kreide is their entry point wine and a stunning example of how great Sauvignon Blanc can be in Styria. Sourced from over fifty distinct parcels, this wine is crafted from 18- to 58-year-old vines deeply rooted in soils of coralline limestone and calcareous clay marl. In the glass, it delivers vibrant aromas of fresh lemon and crisp pear, underpinned by a distinct saline minerality. The palate is medium-bodied, beautifully round, and highly textured.
