2025 Francois Cotat, Sancerre, Cul de Beaujeu

Domaine François Cotat is a historic estate located in the village of Chavignol, where the family has tended vines since the end of World War II. This wine is made from 45-year-old vines rooted in the steep, Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils of the Cul de Beaujeu vineyard. In the glass, it displays a textured, supple structure with clear notes of stone fruit, tangy lemon, and crushed stone. The 2025 vintage provided the conditions necessary for the grapes to reach optimal ripeness, resulting in a wine with significant depth and complexity. It is built for the cellar and will reward those with the patience to let it evolve over the coming decade.
