Domaine Henry Pellé farms forty hectares of vineyards in the village of Morogues within the Menetou-Salon appellation, a property managed today by fourth-generation winemaker Paul-Henry Pellé. The Vignes de Ratier cuvée comes from a sunny, south-west-facing site in Morogues where shallow soils rich in Kimmeridgian marl overlie the bedrock. Made from vines planted in this mineral-rich terroir, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged on its lees in a combination of stainless steel and wooden casks. The resulting bottling displays an ample, generous structure with notable tension and a distinctive stony profile.
