20th Anniversary Barolo & Truffle Dinner @ Il Buco:

Few rooms in New York have a soul quite like the subterranean cellar at Il Buco. Low ceilings and candelabras blanketed with white candle wax illuminate the dimly lit, brick-lined room, the lore of Edgar Allen Poe—and, in the middle of November, the unmistakable, intoxicating aroma of fresh white truffles.

This year marks Manhattan Wine Company’s 20th anniversary. To celebrate two decades of doing what we love, we wanted to do something personal: go into our own cellar and pull the bottles that shaped who we are.

On Tuesday, November 10th, we’re gathering a small group downstairs at Il Buco for the ultimate autumn pairing: a four-course feast covered in Alba truffles, paired alongside a dream lineup of benchmark traditional Baroli.

Every single bottle has been resting untouched in our temperature-controlled cellar since release. We’ll be pouring 2014 Giuseppe Rinaldi, the final vintage vinified by the legendary Giuseppe "Beppe" Rinaldi before his passing in 2018, Cappellano’s mythic ungrafted Piè Franco, and treasures from Bartolo Mascarello, Canonica, and Elio Sandri.

Because of the cellar’s intimate footprint, seats are very limited. We would love nothing more than to share this table and toast twenty years with you.
