2022 Alex Moreau, Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Vieilles Vignes

Alex Moreau has been making the wines at Domaine Bernard Moreau for 20+ years. Recently, he and his brothers split up this remarkable Chassagne benchmark Domaine. I’m a big believer in the future of Chassagne rouge, and Alex makes a remarkable example from some very old vines planted in the early ‘60s. For under $100, this is exceptional Pinot Noir that shows a great deal of complexity and class for a “reasonable” price in Burgundy these days.
