2019 Antoine Arena, Carco Blanc, Patrimonio

The great Antoine Arena is finally going to retire. After the ’23 vintage has been released in a few years, we will never see wines from this legend again. His two sons are now making the wines. For the past few years, he’s made the Carco Blanc which is all Vermentinu (Vermentino in Italy). Try this with some clam pizza or pasta. Something savory/herby and salty. Or even with cheese. This is a ridiculous bottle of wine for the money. Has some texture and weight to it so is best enjoyed after a decant and with food.
