2022 Bartolo Mascarello, Dolcetto d'Alba

The Cantina Bartolo Mascarello is one of the legendary and historic producers of the Barolo appellation. The winery has stood as a beacon of staunch Barolo traditionalism since its official inception in 1918.

Dolcetto is sourced from Monrobiolo della Bussola (0.56ha) and Rué (0.2ha) in Barolo and fermented in large concrete vats (not stainless steel) for about 8–12 days and aged for 6–9 months in large Slavonian oak botti. Although these are not the highly sought after Barolo, they are of exceptional terroir and are fun and delicious to drink.
