2019 Canalicchio di Sopra, Brunello di Montalcino, Vigna Montosoli - Magnum

The Canalicchio estate boasts a rich history dating back to 1962. Canalicchio di Sopra was one of the twelve founders of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino in ‘67. Since then, three generations have meticulously nurtured this legacy, weaving tradition with innovation to craft wines of exceptional quality and character. Canalicchio di Sopra embraces a strong "terroir-driven" philosophy, with a focus on elegance. Canalicchio owns some of the best vineyards in all of Brunello. Their geological diversity (galestro soil in Montosoli, marine sediments, and other clay-dominant soils) imparts profound complexity to the grapes. They killed it in 2019! We are convinced that Montosoli is among the very best terroir in the entire Brunello area.  It’s the oldest Cru in all of Brunello and its highest point. Wines always have a more elegant, graceful pitch to them. This is a show stopping wine!
