Giuseppe Rinaldi’s Tre Tine remains a benchmark of traditionalist viticulture, rooted in the belief that blending distinct vineyard sites achieves a superior structural harmony than single-site bottling. The 2020 edition is sourced from the marl-rich soils of the Le Coste, Cannubi San Lorenzo, and Ravera crus, sites chosen for their ability to contribute varying levels of finesse, weight, and acidity to the finished blend. Following spontaneous fermentation in traditional open-top wooden vats and a prolonged maceration period, the wine is aged for approximately 42 months in large Slavonian oak casks to allow for controlled oxygen exchange without the influence of modern small-barrel toast. The 2020 growing season, characterized by steady progress toward maturity and a beneficial absence of extreme heat spikes, has yielded a wine of notable structural poise, featuring fine-grained, resolved tannins and a persistent, integrated acidity that frames its dense mid-palate.
